In 1938, the nucleus of the Alexandria University (formerly known as Farouk University) had its beginning in the form of two faculties of Fouad the First University. These were the faculties of Arts and Law. The faculty of Engineering was then established in 1941. In the light of the need for developing more disciplines for higher learning and with a view towards meeting the need of the people of Alexandria, Alexandria University became a separate entity in August 1942 with four additional faculties: Science, Commerce, Medicine and Agriculture. In 1952, it became "Alexandria University". Since then, the University witnessed growth and expansion in several fields: the number of Faculties and high institutes increased to 22. The Branch of Alexandria University at the Chadian capital, in "Anjamena" is considers the first Egyptian university in the African region, and so out of keenness of the University to deepen and strengthen Egyptian relations, with the countries of the African continent politically, economically and culturally. This branch includes the faculties of Agriculture, and Pharmacy, and receives 200 African students from countries of Chad, and some neighboring countries that lack such this specializations, and study in both Arabic and French languages.

Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with Africa collaborates with Alexandria University; through the provision of support to send faculty members from the university, and to treat them as experts for the Fund in Chad State; to carry out teaching and scientific research.

The University is tending to establish a typical farm; for the training of African students on modern agriculture, according to the latest scientific systems and the application of biotechnology in the development of agriculture in line with environmental and climatic conditions in these areas, and begin apply this study on rice as a main source of food.

The study begins at Alexandria National University in its new headquarters in Smouha as of the next academic year 2022/2023 in nine programs that grant a bachelor’s degree and include two semesters (the fall semester and the spring semester) with the credit-hour system, as follows:

College of Medicine - Medicine and Surgery Program (95,000 EGP).
College of Dentistry - Oral and Dental Medicine Program (85 thousand pounds).
Faculty of Pharmacy - Pharm de Clinical Program (70,000 EGP).
Faculty of Engineering Programs (Architecture and Construction - Computers and Communications - Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering) - (60,000 EGP).
College of Computer and Data Sciences (Cyber Security Program - Intelligent Systems Program) - (45,000 EGP).
Faculty of Science - Software and Multimedia Industry Program (45,000 EGP).
Those wishing to enroll in these programs can apply through the central coordination of the Ministry of Higher Education in the private university stage, or apply directly through this website as of Sunday, August 7, 2022, provided that the final admission is according to the applicants’ grades and the passing of the entrance exams.

The fees for withdrawing the form are paid 1000 pounds in the electronic payment sources approved by the retail stores bearing the payers’ mark (smart - possible - money - safety - pure - money - payment - timely - guarantor - B - Egypay - shot - Bee - Egypay - Opay) or through the collection outlets spread in the faculties of the University of Alexandria, provided that the payment is made within 48 hours of completing the data registration as a maximum. After completing the payment process, the form is returned to the national number to ensure that the payment status has changed from unpaid to paid
