The “Belt and Road” Aerospace Innovation Alliance (BRAIA) is an international organization. The alliance is a non-profit organization formed by universities, research institutes, and academic organizations, mainly in the aerospace field.
BRAIA is initiated by Northwestern Polytechnical University, China and Chinese Society of Astronautics. The alliance is officially established in Xi’an, in April 2017.
The mission is to enhance the international cooperation on aerospace technology and application. The focus is to promote the substantial cooperation among BRAIA members in scientific research, talents cultivation and knowledge transfer, etc. BRAIA now has 51 members, including universities, research institutes, and academic organizations from Algeria, America, Australia, Bangladesh, Belgium, China, Egypt, France, Italy, Pakistan, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, United Kingdom and other countries along the Silk Road.
Since its establishment, BRAIA has held a series of activities including BRAIA Young Scholar Workshop, BRAIA Working Seminar, various contests and summer camps for university students.
