Established in 2006, Nile University is a non-profit public private partnership higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Sheikh Zayed City (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Cairo. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education of Egypt, Nile University (NU) is a very small coeducational Egyptian higher education institution. Nile University (NU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 14 years old Egyptian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 90-100% making this Egyptian higher education organization a least selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. NU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services. Pearson is UK's largest awarding body and are regulated by Ofqual (England), SQA Accreditation (Scotland), CCEA Accreditation (Northern Ireland) and Qualifications Wales (Wales). It offers academic and vocational qualifications that are globally recognized and benchmarked. On 17th Oct 2019, an external audit visit was hosted at NU, where the audit was conducted by PEARSON UK. The visit covered various academic and administrative aspects at NU. The external reviewer conducted interviews with a wide variety of stakeholders covering leadership, unit heads, faculty and students. In addition, academic and supporting facilities were examined including lecture halls, educational labs, workshop, clinic and offices. Other aspects covered included official templates and forms, documents workflow, decision making hierarchy, academic assessment procedures and policies. Due to the positive report, PEARSON assured status was extended for one extra year. Currently plans are developed at NU quality unit to further collaboration with PEARSON UK.
