Established in 2006, Nile University is a non-profit public private partnership higher-education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Sheikh Zayed City (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Cairo. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education of Egypt, Nile University (NU) is a very small coeducational Egyptian higher education institution. Nile University (NU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor degrees, master degrees, doctorate degrees in several areas of study. This 14 years old Egyptian higher-education institution has a selective admission policy based on entrance examinations and students' past academic record and grades. The admission rate range is 90-100% making this Egyptian higher education organization a least selective institution. International applicants are eligible to apply for enrollment. NU also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to students including a library, housing, sports facilities, financial aids and/or scholarships, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services. The Nile University Center for Nanotechnology (CNT) was founded in 2010, to strengthen Egypt’s regional leadership initiatives in nanotechnology and in line with the philosophy of Nile University, enhance Egypt’s R&D culture and transition to a knowledge-based economy. CNT is committed to academic excellence, innovative research, and capacity building in all areas of nanotechnology. Smart Engineering Systems Research Center

The center seeks to be the foremost nationally and internationally innovation-oriented research and development center synergizing industrial, mechatronics and thermo-fluids sciences and engineering for the development of novel research and solutions.
