Mr. Mohammed Farid Khamis is the Founder of The British University in Egypt (BUE)

(April 14, 1940 - September 19, 2020)
An Egyptian businessman and the largest textile maker in Egypt
He holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and postgraduate studies in Textile Industry from the United States of America.
Worked at the National Bank of Egypt from 1961-1967
He founded the Oriental Weavers Company in 1979, and began trading in the company's shares on the Egyptian Stock Exchange since 1997
He was the Chairman of the Industry and Energy Committee of the Shura Council in 2008.

Mrs. Farida Mohamed Farid Khamis is the President of The British University in Egypt
Graduated from the American University in Cairo (AUC) with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Business Administration and minoring in Psychology.
She spearheaded and established an investor relations department on joining the Orientals Group post graduation 
Gained experience in leading regional and international investment banks.
She has for the past 19 years overseen the entire investment portfolio and structured international transactions raising corporate finance and international investment which contributed to the groups growth and international expansion 
Through her business accomplishments she has been recognised and ranked by Forbes successively from 2017-2021 as one of the top 100 Most Powerful Arab Businesswomen.
She is currently the Chair of The British University in Egypt (BUE)
She is currently the Chair of The Egyptian Propylene and Polypropylene Company; and of The Orientals Group.
Additionally she is a board member of various subsidiaries of the Orientals Group.
Alongside  her board memberships and Chairperson  positions she is a member of the European Business Council, Egypt’s International Economic Forum and the Young President’s Organization (YPO).
